Question about the new synthetic rope on a 10-story traction job

I was totally against using synthetic rope on the main lift lines, you know, just stuck on steel cables for safety. Then we put it in a building downtown last month, and the weight difference let us use a smaller machine room. What's the longest run you guys have seen with this stuff holding up?

What kind of project were you working on that needed steel cables? I mean, they're such a pain to deal with sometimes. Maybe it's just me but they always seem to get tangled.

Oh man @blake_martinez, tell me about it. I had to run some for a backyard zip line last summer and it was a nightmare. What finally worked was laying the whole coil flat on the grass and rolling it out slowly, never letting it lift off the ground. If the loop even started to kink, I stopped and walked it back. Took forever but it stayed straight.
