Watched a new hire at my firm try to dimension a floor plan using the perimeter walls instead of the interior face.
He spent an hour on it before the project lead walked by, pointed at the screen, and just said 'you're measuring the wrong lines, kid', and honestly, who hasn't been there?

That "you're measuring the wrong lines" moment is brutal. I've definitely lost time on similar basic oversights. It's a right of passage, honestly.
