Shoutout to the 1998 Angelfire page about building your own PC

I was looking up some old hardware specs and stumbled on this Angelfire site from 1998 that's still up. It's got a bright yellow background, animated construction GIFs, and a full guide to picking parts for a Windows 98 gaming rig. I thought it was a joke at first, but the advice about avoiding certain sound cards was actually spot on for the time. Anyone else find these perfectly preserved personal project sites from the dial-up days?

Those old sites are like time capsules for tech support. You can see exactly what problems people had with real hardware. I remember a Geocities page that listed which CD-ROM drives would fail with certain motherboards. The advice was messy but it came from someone who actually tried all the combos.
