Serious question, is anyone else not that impressed by the Wayback Machine's archive of Geocities?

I hit 1,500 bookmarks of saved personal sites from the early 2000s, and it matters because those raw, unarchived pages with broken images and guestbooks show a more real internet than a cleaned-up snapshot.

The broken image icons are basically time capsules, not flaws.

The broken guestbook entries were the best part.

Yeah, the broken guestbook entries. I had a page that just showed a bunch of "image not found" icons for years, and honestly, that felt more true to the time than a perfect copy.
