The time a client told me my email newsletters were too wordy...

I always thought long, detailed emails showed expertise. Then a client said they just skimmed to the bullet points and ignored the rest. I cut my word count by half and started putting the key info in the first paragraph. Now my open rates actually went up. Has anyone else had to fight the urge to over-explain in their marketing copy?

Yeah totally! I used to cram three paragraphs of backstory into every update. Finally figured out people just want the headline and a quick CTA. Formatting for skimmers changed everything for me. What did you cut first?

Read somewhere that most people spend less than 15 seconds on any given update. Really drove home the point about getting straight to what matters.
