Just realized how much local SEO matters after seeing a new cafe in Asheville

I was in Asheville last week and saw a new cafe that was packed. I asked someone how they found it and they said they just searched 'coffee near me' on their phone. The cafe had perfect Google My Business info with photos, hours, and recent reviews. I used to think a good website was enough, but now I see local search is huge for brick and mortar. What's the best way you've found to boost local listings besides the basics?

Local SEO is a beast, honestly. My best move was getting customers to leave reviews right after a purchase, maybe with a small sign at the register. Those fresh reviews seem to push you up in those "near me" searches more than anything fancy.

Did you see that study about review velocity? It basically said Google really does care how often you get new reviews, not just the total number. So asking right after a sale like you did is probably the smartest move. Makes all the complicated SEO tricks seem pointless.
