Serious question, why do so many prompts for fantasy stories just copy Lord of the Rings?

I was looking at a prompt list from a writing workshop in Austin and over half the ideas were about a group of heroes finding a magic item to defeat a dark lord. It feels like people forget you can build a world without elves and orcs. What are some good sources for fresh fantasy ideas that aren't just Tolkien again?

They were doing air fryer demos at the fairgrounds last weekend, and the person kept pushing these fancy frozen fries that cost $8 a bag. They said you had to use those for the best results. But I've been making my own from scratch for over a year now, and it's way cheaper and tastes better. I can get a 5 pound bag of russet potatoes for $4 and make enough fries for my family twice. The texture is just as good if you soak them and dry them right. Why do people act like the store bought stuff is the only way to go? Has anyone else had good luck with homemade fries in their air fryer?
