Heard a guy at the parts counter trying to order a 'diesel engine oil filter for a gas truck'

I was picking up a set of injector seals in Cincinnati last week and the guy next to me was dead serious. The counter guy just stared for a second and said, 'Sir, that's not a thing.' The customer got real mad and insisted his buddy told him diesel filters clean better so he wanted one. It made me wonder how many weird myths are floating around out there. What's the strangest piece of bad advice you've ever heard a customer swear by?

That guy's buddy gave him terrible advice. Diesel filters won't even fit on most gas engines, so he'd be stuck anyway.

Used to believe diesel filters were interchangeable too until a mechanic set me straight. Michael880 is right about the fitment issues, they're basically useless for gas engines.
