Found a cached version of a 2008 indie music blog that changed my taste forever
I spent 4 hours last night digging through Wayback Machine trying to find this one blog called 'Static Static' that had the best obscure MP3 downloads. Turned out it disappeared in 2012 and I got so frustrated because none of the links worked. Finally pulled up a cached page from 2009 and it had a whole mixtape of bands that never made it past MySpace. Has anyone else wasted a whole evening chasing a dead link like that?

hernandez.jordan says it was a goldmine but honestly I don't get the obsession. I found some old blog from 2007 with bands I'd never heard of and after clicking three dead links I just closed the tab. It's just music. If the files are gone they're gone. You spend four hours on that and for what? A 128kbps MP3 of some band that broke up before Obama's first term.
