TIL that BIOS beep codes are dead on new systems, and it's annoying.
I was troubleshooting a boot failure on a newer desktop yesterday. The machine just sat there silent, no beeps at all. I remember when a set of beeps would tell you exactly what was wrong, like memory or GPU issues. Now with UEFI and all that, it's like guessing in the dark. I had to pull out a POST card to get anywhere, which feels like overkill. How are you guys dealing with this shift? Any faster methods you've found for modern hardware?

Ugh tell me about it, this is just part of that whole trend where tech gets "smarter" but actually makes simple stuff harder. It's like when my car's check engine light comes on but the code reader costs more than the old mechanic just listening to the engine. Now we gotta have all these extra tools or hope the motherboard has some tiny debug LED, it's such a step back for actually fixing your own stuff.

Totally feel this in my bones. Last month I tried to figure out why my PC wouldn't boot and felt like a detective without a clue. Pretty sure I spent more time looking up error beep patterns than I did actually fixing anything. The whole thing ended with me just ordering a new one after admitting defeat. Guess I'm the reason they make tech so locked down now, huh.
