Pro tip: That moment a vintage Leica M3 shutter curtain ribbon snapped mid-repair in my home shop last Tuesday.
I had to hand-cut a replacement from some 0.1mm polyester drafting film I had left from an old project, and it actually worked, but has anyone else found a better modern material for this specific fix?

Check the flex and durability of that drafting film after a few hundred actuations. I've heard of people using specific grades of heat-stable polyester from bookbinding supplies. What's the actual thickness you ended up with?

Yeah, that's the real test right there.
