Got burned by a $200 vacuum sealer from Amazon - wish I'd asked first
I bought this fancy vacuum sealer a few months back thinking it would help me portion out tougher cuts and save money buying in bulk. After about 20 uses the seal bar stopped heating evenly and now it just hisses air back in. Cost me $200 and a whole weekend of wasted tri-tip I had to throw out. I should have just stuck with the basic FoodSaver my buddy has been using for years. Anyone else had luck with a mid-range sealer that actually holds up for more than a season?

The Anova Culinary sealer has been solid for me. Got it about a year ago and it's been through maybe 50 cycles with no issues on the seal bar. I use it for breaking down whole chuck roasts and pork shoulders from Costco, and the seal holds strong even with liquid heavy bags. The $150 price tag stung a bit, but it's already outlasted my old FoodSaver by a long shot.

Didn't you just watch that YouTube comparison where it beat the FoodSaver on seal strength?
