Warning: That 1999 article about Y2K crashing everything is still in my bookmarks

I was cleaning out my browser on my phone yesterday and found this old bookmark I saved back in 1999. It was a website predicting total chaos when the clocks hit midnight. Planes falling out of the sky, bank accounts wiped out. I was 16 and scared enough to save it. Nothing happened obviously. But now every time I open my bookmarks I see it and laugh. Has anyone else still got some ancient doomsday bookmark they can't delete?

Planes falling out of the sky" - that part always cracked me up too. Actually the real Y2K bug thing was way more boring than people thought, it was mostly just old computers getting the date wrong and not like... exploding. I remember reading later that most of the scary predictions came from people who didn't know how aviation or banking systems actually worked. They're all triple-redundant with backups everywhere even back then. Still though I kept a few cans of beans in my closet just in case because my friend's dad was really into it. Never ate them until like 2005 when I was broke.

Yeah just drag that bookmark into a folder called "things I worried about for nothing" and move on.
