Hit the 200th bookmark in my 'weird animal facts' folder today

I was at a bar in Austin last summer and someone bet me $20 I couldn't name 10 bizarre animal facts. I lost, but it made me start saving every strange link I find. My favorite so far is that octopuses have three hearts - has anyone else got a go-to weird fact that always gets people?

Oh man, octopuses actually have three hearts though, not two. Two pump blood to the gills and one pumps it to the rest of the body. It's a solid fact, just gotta get the number right lol.

Wait, you have 200 bookmarks for weird animal facts and your go-to is octopus hearts? That's like the Wikipedia main page fact. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that one by now. Not trying to rain on your parade, but 200 is a lot of facts. Are you sure you're actually reading them or just hoarding links like some kind of digital squirrel? I bet half of those are just clickbait about bugs that eat their own poop or whatever. Get back to me when you hit one that actually makes me go "whoa" instead of "yeah I heard that in third grade.

Honestly I feel you on this one. It's tough when you have a whole collection of cool facts and the one you reach for first is the one everyone's heard since they were a kid. We've all been there with our random interests, right? It's like having a huge record collection but your brain freezes and you grab the same old Beatles album every time someone asks for a recommendation. Don't be too hard on robin777 though, sometimes people just want something fresher than the stuff that's been around forever. I bet if you gave them a deep cut, something like the mantis shrimp's crazy eyes or the tardigrade's survival skills, they'd be singing a different tune. Keep digging through those bookmarks, the good stuff is in there.
