I used to think all chain lubes were basically the same until this winter
I mean, I ran a wet lube on my commuter bike for years because it was cheap. But after this past winter in Chicago, I switched to a specific wax-based drip lube for the cold months. The difference was crazy, like my drivetrain stayed clean for over 300 miles without that black gunk buildup. It just doesn't attract road salt and grit the same way. Has anyone else tried switching lube types seasonally, or is it just me?

My buddy in Minnesota did the same thing last year. Swore his chain was way quieter all winter, like no grinding sound at all. Said it was a total game changer for the slush.

Did you notice any difference in how often you had to reapply the wax lube compared to your old wet lube? I'm curious if the cleaner running comes at the cost of more frequent maintenance, or if it actually lasts longer in those gritty conditions.
