Spent 2 hours trying to get my sourdough starter to double in size

Turns out my tap water had too much chlorine, switched to filtered and it finally took off after 3 days. Anybody else run into water issues with their starter?

Same thing happened with my starter in Dallas, city water was terrible.

My tap water here in San Antonio tested at 180 ppm TDS straight out of the faucet, and my starter's been fine for three years. I honestly think people blame the water too quick when it's more likely their starter just needed more time or a different feeding schedule.
