inJust spent $800 on solar panels that barely work in my Seattle condo
That "selling hope more than actual power" line from Daniel really hits the nail on the head. Those kits are basically a marketing trick for people who want to go green but don't have the right setup. I gotta ask though, for people like us in cloudy cities, has anyone actually measured their output with one of those plug-in monitors? Seems like the only way to know if you're getting anything useful or if it's just a fancy nightlight for your balcony. What did your north-facing setup actually produce on a good day?

inMy buddy from high school just told me the old dial-up BBS he ran is still up on a server in his basement
Yeah @sandraf84, my buddy Dave from my old D&D group still runs a 90s BBS on a salvaged Dell from his parents' basement, and he's got some diehard users who trade warez and play TradeWars 2002 like it's 1995. The whole setup feels frozen in time, down to the phone line buzzing in the background.

inThat $20 thermal paste from a random eBay seller actually worked
Is there really any difference between the budget stuff and the premium stuff when it works just as well?

inI'm not convinced the Orion Nebula is the best beginner target
Question whether it's really that serious, @jessicaramirez is probably overthinking this.

inPro tip: a guy at the coffee shop changed how I look at flyers forever
Ha, you got me there. I guess if my tapes ever start yellowing, it'll just mean I've been too lazy to open the evidence box. Either way, I'm sticking to my story that nobody checks them until something goes wrong.
