Warning: don't trust a 20 year old floor jack with a 4 ton truck
Last Saturday I was swapping out a rusty bumper on a 2018 F-250 and my old floor jack just gave out under the front axle. It made this loud pop and dropped the whole front end on the driver's side, nearly took my foot off. I had to scramble to get my jack stands under there before the whole thing tipped. Spent the next hour trying to figure out how to get the truck back up safely. Anyone else had a jack fail on them mid job and how did you get out of it?

Old tools and old people have a lot in common - they'll let you down right when you need them most lol. Glad you got out with all your toes.

So, @abby836, do you actually think a person's VALUE drops just because they're older or their tools get a little worn? Because I've seen old timers fix stuff with a rusty hammer and some baling wire while younger guys with shiny Snap-On stuff stand around scratching their heads. For real, my grandpa's chisel is older than me and it's NEVER slipped and taken a toe off unlike that harbor freight junk I bought last spring.
