inAppreciation post: That rustic cabinet from the alley had termite damage inside.
Ugh, termite damage inside is the worst kind of surprise. It really sucks when you think you scored a cool piece and then find that. Good looking out on the inspection tip, it's so easy to miss and then you bring those pests right into your house. I always get paranoid and check things three times now after a bad find myself.

inMy stay at a lakeside cabin left me with a ghost story idea. Any prompts to build on it?
Man, I always figured you needed big scary monsters right away. But that "wrong guess makes it come closer" thing... yeah I'm stealing that for my next draft.

inMy weekend experiment with rice and beans for the whole week
Totally get what laura214 means about changing up the toppings. I used to be all about the "just power through it" mindset, eating the exact same meal until it was gone. But man, that gets old fast and makes sticking to a budget feel like a punishment. What changed for me was keeping a couple cheap extras around, like a bag of frozen corn or a jar of spices. Suddenly that big pot of beans feels like three or four different meals, and I don't dread eating it by Thursday. It's the difference between saving money and actually feeling good about what you're eating.

inRant: My fix for a flickering monitor was way simpler than I thought
Nice when it's something stupid simple like that. Had the same thing with a TV last year, picture kept cutting out. Was ready to order a whole new main board, but my buddy told me to check the HDMI cable first. Felt like an idiot because it was literally just loose in the port. Pushed it in all the way and it was perfect. Those easy wins are the best, saves so much time and cash. Makes you wanna facepalm for overthinking it lol.

inUnpopular opinion: I thought sticking to one time zone was pointless.
Honestly, I see it the complete opposite way. Tbh, I actively keep track of two or three time zones at once on my devices. It forces me to pay attention and stops me from getting too comfortable in my own little bubble. Sure, you can mess up at first, but it just becomes a normal habit like anything else. Sticking to just one feels like you're ignoring how other people actually live and work. I get more respect from my international clients because I'm on their time, not just my own.
