inMy entire writing folder just vanished from my desktop
Man, "hadn't backed up in a week" hits hard. I used to be the same way, thinking my files were safe just sitting there. Then my old laptop's drive just died, took a whole photo album with it. Now I have this cheap external drive that I plug in every Friday without fail. For recovery, Recuva saved my butt once when I emptied the recycle bin by mistake. It's free and pretty straightforward to run.

inShowerthought: My cousin's kid asked me why I only read old comics.
That kid asking "what happens next" is how I feel about my own routines.

inAn old piano book in my attic taught me to play by ear.
That "unlearning" part is so true. It's like your brain finally gets permission to stop translating and just do the thing.

inFrom a recent harbor inspection: bio-markers did more harm than good
Seriously, this is a supply chain problem. @veramason, the damage is bad because they sold us a product that wasn't fit for the job. The real issue is companies making "green" stuff for marketing, not for actual field work. They don't test it in real conditions like strong currents. We end up buying it with good intentions and create more waste. It makes people distrust all eco options, even the good ones.

inHelped my neighbor fix a fender and remembered hand-sanding for hours.
Reminds me of people who still swear by manual transmissions.
