Can we talk about the difference in wiring diagrams from the old paper binders to the new digital manuals

I just spent two hours tracing a single wire on a 1998 Cessna 172 using the original paper manual, but the same job on a 2020 model with the digital manual took me 15 minutes because I could just search the part number.

My old instructor used to say you could measure an avionics tech's experience by the paper cuts on their fingers. I remember a specific wiring diagram for a King Silver Crown system that was spread across three different fold-out pages in the manual. You had to lay them all out on the hangar floor just to follow one circuit from the audio panel to the nav radio. The new interactive PDFs let you click on a component and highlight every connected wire instantly. It's a completely different way of troubleshooting.
