Question about the anime section at the library in Springfield

I was at the main library in Springfield yesterday and saw they have a whole new shelf just for manga and light novels. The librarian said they bought over 200 new volumes this year. Has your local library started doing this too?

Rant: I forged a small knife from a piece of old leaf spring and the quench left it with a weird, wavy pattern along the edge.

I was working with a piece of 5160 from a truck spring, got it to a bright orange heat, and quenched it in warm canola oil, but now the edge looks like a tiny topographic map, so has anyone else had a pattern like this show up from what seemed like a normal quench?

Just realized I picked the wrong welding rod for a high-pressure steam line repair last Tuesday.

Everyone swears by 7018 for everything, but for that specific 500 psi job in a tight space, I went with 6010 for the root pass and it gave me way better penetration control, even though the foreman said it was the wrong call.

My friend once spent hours typing up a huge post about fixing his car, only to realize he posted it in the gardening section. The replies were just people asking what kind of fertilizer his engine needed. He was so mad he didn't go back to that forum for a year. It's still the funniest thing I've ever seen online.

My tripod leg snapped inside the old Sears at Northgate Mall yesterday. Had to get creative.

Oh man, that's rough. Those old Sears stores are like tombs now. Bet you had to MacGyver it with some tape or something. Total tripod nightmare scenario. At least you got a story out of it.

A horse with a bad quarter crack finally came right after 8 months of work

Yeah, the acrylic patch was a game changer for a mare I worked on. We had a similar deep crack that just wouldn't stop moving. The patch gave it that rigid support it needed so the new growth could actually catch up. It's such a slow process, but seeing that solid new hoof wall come in makes all the waiting worth it, right?
