Found a 2007 thread about a guy who tried to build a boat out of old road signs
I was digging through a local fishing forum from my town, Port Angeles, and I found this thread from 2007. This guy, username 'SignGuyMike', posted a step by step log of trying to build a small skiff using only old stop signs and street name plates he got from the city dump. He used a heat gun to bend them and pop rivets to hold it together. The pictures are amazing, just this weird silver patchwork thing. He got it in the water at the marina and it floated for about 15 minutes before the rivets started to pull through. The last post is just him saying 'Well, it's a planter now.' I think these old, failed project threads are the best part of the internet. They're so honest. Has anyone else found a good 'spectacular failure' build thread from the early web days?

My friend once spent hours typing up a huge post about fixing his car, only to realize he posted it in the gardening section. The replies were just people asking what kind of fertilizer his engine needed. He was so mad he didn't go back to that forum for a year. It's still the funniest thing I've ever seen online.
