Question about the anime section at the library in Springfield

I was at the main library in Springfield yesterday and saw they have a whole new shelf just for manga and light novels. The librarian said they bought over 200 new volumes this year. Has your local library started doing this too?

Yeah, the part about them buying over 200 new volumes really got me. I mean, my library did the same thing last year. It feels like libraries are finally catching up to what people actually want to check out, not just what they think we should read. It's a cool shift to see, like they're trying to stay useful. Maybe it's just me but it makes the whole place feel more alive when you see that stuff on the shelves.

Disagree hard on this one, @robinf34. Chasing trends just makes libraries feel like a bookstore that's late to the party. The whole point was finding stuff you wouldn't see at the mall. Now it's just more of the same bestsellers everyone already knows about. Feels like they're giving up on their real job to just be popular.
