My tech buddy laughed at me for keeping a bookmark from 2004 about drying sneakers in a microwave

Ask @ivan873 if he's ever been a broke college kid with wet shoes and a 9am class. Honestly, that microwave trick was ugly but it worked when I was desperate and broke. The real question is did you keep the bookmark as a souvenir or as a backup plan for the next rainy day?

Checked out that new flooring place on 99 Street

Gotta disagree with @lee.cole here, laminate is way tougher than people give it credit for lol.

I finally visited that old camera shop in Portland I keep hearing about

$45 for a working RB67 back is a steal. Ive seen those go for double or triple that online. Grab it while you can, those old Mamiya parts are drying up fast. Pro Photo Supply usually has a decent used section but its hit or miss. If you need anything else specific for the RB, call them first. Theyll hold stuff behind the counter for a day or two if you ask. Otherwise, ordering online for rare parts is a gamble with shipping and condition. Make the drive, it's worth it if you need more than just that one back.

Just saw my electric bill drop $45 after swapping out one old appliance

Honestly, that right there is the kind of hidden cost nobody warns you about when you buy a house. Ngl, I had the exact same shock with an old chest freezer in my garage that was chugging juice like it was running a marathon. Once I swapped it out for a newer model, my bill dropped by about $35 a month. It's one of those things where you don't realize how much it's costing until you actually see the numbers in black and white. Glad you caught yours before the weather turned too.

Switched from a DA sander to a longboard for blocking 3 months ago

Longboarding the final passes with 80 grit is the cheat code for killing those sanding scratches before primer. I don't even break out the DA until I'm at 180 now.
