inPSA: Watch out for those tiny ribbon cable clips on modern laptops
Remember thinking those clips were no big deal until my last repair. I totally get what @linda_kelly17 means about them feeling designed to fail. Used a plastic spudger and heated it a tiny bit with a hair dryer on low, which actually helped a lot. Still broke two before the third one came off clean. Now I order a spare clip with every other part just in case.

inFinally got the old tile up in my Nob Hill bathroom without wrecking the subfloor
Tell me about it. I once used a heat gun to strip paint off an old door and nearly lit the whole thing up. The smell was awful, and I had a bucket of water ready the whole time. It's one of those jobs that looks easy online but turns into a real project. Your cement board tip is solid, that's exactly where I ended up going.

inVent: I just found out how much meat a single steer actually yields and my whole pricing model feels off
That's how most stuff works, just hidden better lol.

inOur scrap rate went from 8% to under 1% in six months
Exactly! It's wild how one small step can catch so many problems early. We started logging every check and found most failures came from the same two issues everyone was skipping. Now it's just part of the routine, like checking your oil. Saves a ton of time arguing about who messed up later.
