I finally gave in and tried a soil injection for a sick oak in my yard

For years I thought those deep root feeder things were just a gimmick, you know? I mean, I figured water and surface fertilizer was fine. But this big white oak in my backyard started looking really sad last spring, with yellow leaves and slow growth. A guy I know from a job in Charlotte said to try a specific product, the Ross Root Feeder, with a special mix. I was super skeptical but the tree kept getting worse, so I did it. I followed the directions and put the stuff in about 8 inches down in a circle around the drip line. By mid summer, I swear, the color came back and it put on new growth. It really changed my mind on how to get nutrients to mature trees. Has anyone else had a good turn around with injections on a tree that was just hanging on?
