Update: I thought a throw line was a waste of time for small trees

Had a tricky removal in a tight backyard last week where I couldn't get a lift in. A climber from Eugene showed me how to set a line in the crown first to guide limbs down a precise chute. It saved us at least two hours of cleanup and zero damage to the fence. Anyone have other tricks for super confined spaces?

Finally got the hang of diagnosing those intermittent electrical gremlins

For months, I was chasing a no-start on a 2012 Civic that would only act up when it was cold. The difference came after I borrowed a good graphing multimeter from a shop in Bellingham and watched the crank sensor signal drop out. Has anyone else found a specific tool that made a night-and-day difference on a stubborn electrical issue?

Serious question, why does everyone say to just use the library?

I needed a specific book on old radio repair for a project last month. Everyone online said to just check my local library, it would be easy. I went to the main branch downtown and their catalog was a mess. The book was listed as 'available', but it wasn't on the shelf. A librarian helped me put in a search request, which took a week. They said they couldn't find it. I then tried the inter-library loan system, which took another two weeks to tell me no copies were available in the whole state network. This whole process took over three weeks of back and forth for nothing. I ended up finding a scanned PDF of the book on a university archive site after digging through about 20 pages of search results, which I never would have found through a normal search. Has anyone else had a library hunt turn into a multi-week dead end?

I finally switched from a hand crank to an electric blower on my forge

The heat up time went from about 15 minutes to under 5. Some guys say the old way builds more skill, but I think the new way lets me focus on the metal. What's your take on using modern tools versus traditional methods?
