I finally switched from a hand crank to an electric blower on my forge
The heat up time went from about 15 minutes to under 5. Some guys say the old way builds more skill, but I think the new way lets me focus on the metal. What's your take on using modern tools versus traditional methods?

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. I held onto my old hand crank for years, telling myself it was about the craft. But switching to an electric blower just made everything easier. Now I spend less time getting started and more time actually working the iron, which feels like real progress.
