Walked into a wedding consult with a client who wanted 'deconstructed' centerpieces and spent 45 minutes figuring out she meant just a handful of stems in old milk bottles

Had three other brides that week ask for the exact same thing so I finally gave up on trying to upsell them on full arrangements since they all seemed happier paying $15 per table instead of $80.

Man I had a bride last summer ask for "rustic minimalist" and she just wanted mason jars with three stems of baby's breath each. Charged her $12 per table and she was thrilled. Made me rethink my whole pricing strategy.

...and honestly that's where we all should have been heading years ago. @evanpalmer is right, I've seen so many brides get talked into these huge arrangements they don't even want because we think that's what a wedding table needs. I've started offering what I call "stem service" now where I just show up with buckets of loose flowers and they can pick their own jars and fill them however they like. It's less stressful for everybody and they feel like they're being creative. The trick is just making sure they understand what they're getting so nobody shows up expecting a full centerpiece and gets a milk bottle with two sprigs.
