Rant: That "vintage" Pyrex trick everyone brags about is a total lie

I kept seeing people online say you can tell real vintage Pyrex by holding it to the light and looking for a certain glow. Bought a piece labeled as 1950s at a booth in Kentucky for $30 last weekend. Got it home, held it up to my kitchen light, and it just looked like a regular glass bowl. Took it to a shop that actually deals in antiques and the guy told me the glow thing only works on a few specific patterns. Ended up being a modern repro from 2018. Anyone else fall for one of these fake tricks or just me?

Man that glow trick got me too, wasted $40 on a fake butter dish.

Call me crazy Noah, but I actually think the glow trick works pretty well if you do it right. @noah_palmer42 probably just got a bad batch or didn't let the butter sit long enough before checking. I've used the same $15 dish for a year now and the glow lasts a solid 10 minutes after I flip the lights off. Not saying it's foolproof, but $40 buys a lot more than a pretty light show if you pick the right seller.
