A guy at the Brimfield show gave me the best advice for spotting old tools
I was looking at a box of rusty wrenches last year, and this older guy just pointed at one and said, 'Look for the maker's mark, not the rust.' He showed me a tiny 'Plomb' stamp on a wrench I almost passed over. I cleaned it up and it's now my favorite tool. Anyone else have a simple tip that changed how you look at stuff?

Found a Stanley plane under grime by checking for that sweet, sweet kidney bean logo.

Oh man, that's the best feeling! I've definitely spent way too long squinting at a crusty old tool, hoping to see that shape. My last "kidney bean" hunt just turned out to be a weird rust stain, lol. Congrats on the legit find!
