Vent: My sourdough starter exploded all over my kitchen ceiling in Boise
It was day 7 and I used a jar that was way too small, so the whole thing just blew its lid at 3 AM. Anyone have a good method for cleaning dried starter off a textured ceiling?

Honestly that's a sign of a healthy starter, you should be proud. The mess means it was active and ready to use. Just scrape it off and see it as a baking badge of honor.

Remember my buddy tried to make kombucha once and had a similar disaster. He left it in a closet and the bottle basically turned into a geyser, coating the wall in this sticky, fermented tea. We spent hours with a stepladder and a spray bottle of vinegar water, gently scraping it off with a putty knife. Textured ceilings are the worst for that kind of clean up.
