TIL my old way of measuring posts was off by 3 inches

I was putting up a 6 foot privacy fence near Austin last week and a kid fresh out of trade school showed me his laser level. Turns out I had been eyeballing it for 15 years and my last three fences were all slightly crooked. Anybody else switch to newer tools and feel silly about it?

You know my buddy Mark spent years leveling shelves with a bubble level that was off, and now he walks around mumbling about every crooked picture frame in his house like it's a personal betrayal?

Bet his spirit level was a metaphor for something bigger, like how we all walk around thinking we're straight when really we're just tilted and don't know it.
