Damn, that's a solid run. When my old US Robotics box died, I tried the capacitor trick. Pop the case, look for any bulging or leaky capacitors on the board, the little cylindrical components. You can sometimes swap them out with new ones from an electronics store if you're handy with a soldering iron. It's a long shot, but cheaper than hunting for a working one online.
