My grandma's handwriting changed completely after she got that first smartphone in 2019

She went from this beautiful cursive to this weird mix of print and scribbles within about 6 months of getting an iPhone. Anyone else notice older relatives lose their penmanship after switching to texting?

Watched my mom's handwriting go from this flowing script to basically chicken scratch inside a year. She used to write out grocery lists in this beautiful cursive that looked like it belonged in a museum. Now her notes look like a doctor's prescription pad. It's like her hand just forgot how to make those loops and swirls after years of tapping on glass.

Yeah but @robert275 I gotta push back a little on the timeline. A year is pretty fast for handwriting to go from museum quality to chicken scratch just from tapping on glass. I mean, my mom still writes pretty decently after using her phone for like five years straight. Maybe it's just me but I wonder if there's something else going on there like her grip changing or maybe she's just rushing more now. That kind of drop off in fine motor control usually takes longer unless she's got arthritis creeping in or something.

Bet you could still read it though, right?
