Rant: I keep seeing people use the wrong size gauze for extractions

I was at a trade show in Austin last month and watched three demos where they used the big 4x4 pads for facial extractions. That's way too thick and blocks your view of the pore. I switched to the single layer 2x2 squares six months ago and my accuracy went up a lot. My clients say it hurts less now too. What's the smallest size you all use without it tearing?

Oh man, I feel this so much. I made the same switch to the thinner 2x2 squares and it was a total game changer for seeing what I'm doing. I haven't had one tear yet, so that size seems perfect.

Honestly, the material matters just as much as the size... I tried a cheap brand of 2x2 once and it was like trying to use tissue paper, just fell apart. The good cotton ones have some stretch so you can really get in there without a blowout. It's not just about seeing better, it's about having the right feel and control in your fingers.
