Pro tip: don't buy those cheap soldering station tips off Amazon
Wasted $35 on a 40 pack of tips that were supposed to fit my Hakko. They didn't. The first one oxidized in about 10 minutes and the second one wouldn't even heat up. Shoulda just spent the extra $12 on genuine ones from the supply house. Anyone else burn money on those knockoff tip sets?

Gotta respectfully disagree here. I've had good luck with a $15 set of tips from a different brand, they've lasted me months. Maybe it's hit or miss based on the seller, but not all cheap tips are trash.

Question whether it's really that serious. A tip oxidizing in 10 minutes sounds like user error or bad luck more than a universal truth. You win some you lose some with cheap gear, that's just how it goes.
