Finally gave those push-in wire connectors a real shot on a kitchen remodel

Always thought they were a cheap shortcut, but after my buddy swore by them for a whole house rewire, I used them on a dozen outlets. They held up perfectly under load testing and saved a ton of time. Anyone else switch from wire nuts to these for certain jobs?

My cousin's electrician used them on his garage and said he'd never go back. I mean, they seem legit if they pass inspection.

The Wago lever nuts he used have a 32 amp rating but most standard US outlets are 15 or 20 amp circuits, so they're fine for that. I've pulled apart a few of those connectors that got hot and the plastic was melted but the contacts still worked, which kinda freaks me out. If you do a lot of work inside tight boxes they're way easier than twisting wires and screwing on a wire nut, I'll give them that. But I've seen enough failures in high load continuous use like space heaters that I still reach for a wire nut and tape most of the time.

Seriously? Robert275, it's just a wire connector.
