Walked into Summit Tools on the south side last weekend and they actually had the Festool tracksaw in stock

I've been calling around for weeks trying to find one without ordering online and paying shipping. The guy at the counter said they got a shipment Thursday and already sold half of them. Grabbed the last 55 inch rail they had. Anyone else find random good stock at local places lately?

Happened to me with a Dewalt planer a few months back. Walked into a smaller hardware store thinking they wouldn't have squat, and they had the last one on the shelf. I've learned to just call the smaller shops first, not the big box stores. They don't always put their specialty stock online, and sometimes the old school counter guys will actually hold stuff for you if you ask nice. Also helps to go in person on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning, less competition. Idk if you got a loyalty card there or anything, but most of those Summit stores will give you a heads up if you leave your number.
