Torn between hiring a pro for $4,500 or DIYing my own basement subfloor after a flood

Man, my buddy tried the DIY route after his basement flooded and it ended up being a three month nightmare with mold creeping back in. He ended up ripping it all out and hiring someone anyway.

My buddy tried drying out his own crawlspace after a small leak and thought he had it handled. Three weeks later his wife started getting that musty smell and sure enough black mold was hiding behind the drywall he just put back up. @daniel_martinez84, it cost him double what it would have been to just call a pro from the start, plus the hassle of ripping out fresh work. He told me never again, said sometimes the money you save upfront just gets you in deeper trouble down the road.
