Hot take: I used a hair dryer to fix a vinyl floor bubble in my Mill Woods bungalow.

Had a big bubble in the new plank flooring after a humid week, and my contractor buddy was booked for two months. I read online to heat it with a hair dryer, press it down with a heavy book, and let it cool. It actually flattened out and stayed put. Has anyone else tried something this dumb that somehow worked?

My neighbor in Mill Woods used a rolling pin for the same trick.

Read somewhere that rolling pins work better on thicker carpets. Makes sense if you think about it.

Guess we're all just one humidity spike away from turning into amateur flooring surgeons. Between your hair dryer trick and @margaret_wright50's neighbor with the rolling pin, Mill Woods is basically a home repair hack lab. My only contribution is using a bag of frozen peas as an ice pack, which feels less clever. What's the weirdest tool you've used for a fix?
