Had a whole ceiling patch fail on me last Thursday in a Denver bungalow
The hot mud mix was off, maybe the water was too cold, and it just crumbled when I tried to sand it. Anyone got a good trick for mixing in a cold garage?

Learned that lesson the hard way last winter. My garage is basically a walk-in freezer. Started using warm water from the kitchen tap, not hot, just warm. Makes a huge difference in how it sets up. Still takes forever to cure though.

Curious how long "forever" is for you, @robertsmith. Are we talking days or weeks in that cold garage?
