Pro tip: Your zine's page numbers are upside down
I was at a zine fest in Portland last weekend and I swear, half the zines I picked up had the page numbers printed upside down or in the wrong corner. It's a tiny thing, but it makes flipping through a pain. I know because I messed it up on my first run of 50 copies of 'Coffee Shop Ghosts' last year. I used a basic home printer and just assumed the numbers would land right. Nope. My friend Sam pointed it out, laughing, 'Dude, I have to turn the whole book around to see what page I'm on.' It matters because part of the DIY charm is stuff being easy to use, not just looking cool. I fixed it by doing a single test booklet first and marking the master copy with a big red X. Anyone else have a simple layout thing that trips people up?

Yeah that's such a classic mistake. The test booklet idea is smart, saves so much headache.

My friend's kid had that exact headache last year. She mixed up the bubbles for two whole sections before she noticed. They had to get special forms from the school office and it took an hour to fix.
