Found a box of old zines in my aunt's attic in Akron
They were from the late 90s, all held together with staples and full of handwritten band reviews. It's wild to think people used to mail these out with actual stamps, lmao. Anyone else come across a stash like that recently?

Fifty a month? That's wild. I can't even keep track of how much I spend on postage for like four letters a year. Do they seriously hand-stamp all those envelopes? I had no idea people were still doing this in those numbers. Is the zine scene really that alive still?

My cousin in Portland still sends out about fifty a month. It's a whole thing with stamps and envelopes and trips to the post office. I guess it's nice to get something that isn't a bill, but it feels like a lot of work. I can't imagine doing that instead of just posting a PDF.
