Found a Geocities page from 1997 that still had a working hit counter showing 12,384 visits

Run by some guy in Omaha who posted his cat pictures and a guestbook that still sort of works. How do we feel about preserving these raw, unpolished personal sites vs letting them die out naturally?

Right? I found one from 1999 with a guestbook full of people just saying "cool site" and "nice dog" and it's like the most pure internet experience ever... but yeah it's totally just digital clutter. All those tacky midi files and spinning gifs are better off decomposing in the cyber graveyard where they belong. Who needs to see someone's 20 year old photo of their cat Mitten when we've got endless cat content everywhere now. Let that old Geocities page fade away just like the guestbook did.

12,384 hits on a Geocities page isn't worth preserving, it's just digital junk taking up space. Let those clunky old sites die out naturally so we can focus on stuff that's actually useful or fun now.
