Can we talk about how everyone treats old Geocities sites like garbage?

I keep seeing people post links to old Geocities pages just to laugh at the blinking text and sparkly GIFs. But those sites were real handmade content from regular people, not corporate junk. I ran across one from 1998 last week that had a detailed guide to fixing a lawnmower engine, and it was more useful than any YouTube tutorial I've seen in years. Am I the only one who thinks we should treat these old sites with a little more respect?

Wait, are we really going to pretend like those sites are just ugly junk and not little time capsules? That lawnmower guide you found is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. My dad still uses a bookmark from a 1997 Geocities page for baking bread, it's got this weird font and a background of stars, but the recipe is flawless. We're losing all that real, human knowledge because we're too busy laughing at the pixel art.

A whole guide to fixing a lawnmower engine from 1998? I mean, that's wild that something that old is still more helpful than half the stuff we get fed today.
