Thought I could work from a beach in Thailand for a month. My laptop died after day 3.

I booked a whole month at a bungalow in Koh Lanta thinking I'd be coding with my feet in the sand. Salt spray and humidity killed my fan within 72 hours, and the nearest repair shop was a 45 minute scooter ride away. Learned the hard way that sand gets everywhere, and I ended up working from a 7-Eleven parking lot for WiFi. Has anyone else fried their gear trying to be too scenic with their workspace?

Scott says he lost two keyboards to beach dust.

Salt spray and humidity killed my fan" sounds like a eulogy for your laptop.
