Found my rhythm at a cafe in Medellin with the worst wifi ever

I was at this place called Pergamino in Medellin last month, and their wifi kept dropping every 20 minutes. Instead of getting frustrated, I started planning my work in 20 minute sprints, then taking a real break when it cut out to walk around the block. Now I do that everywhere even with good wifi, and my focus is way better. Has anyone else accidentally built a better routine from a bad situation like this?

Thirty two years ago in a little coffee shop in Portland, my roommate used to unplug the modem on purpose at 2:47 every afternoon because he thought I needed a break from coding. Drove me crazy at first but now I actually keep a little timer on my phone that buzzes every 45 minutes and I go stare at a tree or something. Funny how those stupid interruptions turned into a real habit that stuck with me through three different jobs and two cities.

Thirty two years? Man, that makes me feel ancient just reading it.
