Spent $500 on a Facebook ads course and it was a total waste

I dropped $500 on a Facebook ads course last month from some guy with a big following. All he did was screen record himself setting up campaigns and talk about how rich he was. No real strategy, no data breakdowns, just fluff. Has anyone else actually gotten value from one of these paid courses or am I better off just learning through YouTube and testing?

Most of those courses are just recycled YouTube content packaged to look premium. You probably would've learned more by burning that $500 and watching free tutorials.

Man I feel personally attacked @wesley_hart, I dropped $300 on one of those "masterclass" things and it had the same info as a YouTube video I watched the week before. The video even had better production value. My wallet is still mad at me for that one. At least with free tutorials you can blame the algorithm when you don't learn anything, not your own terrible decision making.
